Girly Beer?

I’m a big beer drinker. I don’t like calling myself a beer snob, but in some circles I might be. I’ve tried many a beer, and there is one that when I tell people I enjoy, they chuckle a bit under their breath.

Yes. That’s right. A raspberry beer. In my top five beers of beers, is a fruit beer. I grew up in Boston, so the Harpoon brewery is right around the corner. And I love Hefeweizen. I also happen to love Raspberries.

And I mean, I’m as manly as the next guy (I hope) I’m bearded, and I love a good steak and a 10 year scotch. But I also love this. And anyone who has anything to say about it…well..I dunno. Try it? You might like it too.

Anyone with me? Can we bring fruit beers (read: QUALITY fruit beers) back over to the guy side?

Some Good Commercials About Men

When we started The Chicago Guys, we realized that there were different types of guys that we wanted to represent. For example, sometime we’re classy gentlemen that you could take home to meet the parents, like these fellas.

But of course, we aren’t picture-perfect all the time. Sometimes we like to drink beer, scratch ourselves and well, be men. Here’s a good commercial to represent that set.

The Glenlivet Nàdurra

6a00d8341cc8d453ef0120a59b120a970c-800wiAnyone who spends any significant amount of time with me knows that I’m a scotch drinker. I’m not usually a Glenlivet drinker, but recently I heard that Glenlivet is releasing a new, American-exclusive vintage – the Nàdurra Triumph 1991 – that sounds too damn good: non-chill filtered and bottled at full strength, with hints of apple, pear and wood. Yum.

It’s a limited release, so if you’re at all interested, I’d get it now. If you’ve tried it, or have any other good drinks we should try, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
