About two years ago I quit the 'modern razor' and all of its 'technological advances' to get back to the good old days when shaving your face was an art (not that I was actually alive for those days, but have heard about them and have come to appreciate it.)

I now use a safety razor (read: single blade on a metal handle) and love it. It definitely takes bit more time, and I've given myself some good cuts, but the quality of the shave is damn good. DShan, I'll craft my counter-point to your post and see what the the rest of the Guys have to say.

I too was tricked into the Mach 3 several years ago and somehow this razor has made it through the many years in Chicago. I am also the proud owner of the 5 Blade monster but I enjoy the simple 3 blade much better.
